Policy Lab Participants

The Policy Lab’s ability to directly influence Malaysia’s youth unemployment program(s) means that the APYO needs to be selective on who joins the program. The things we will be looking at when making a selection for the program include:

  • Workplace experience in relevant industries and/or roles

  • Academic qualifications, including short courses (completed and in progress)

  • Other topic relevant experience (internships, volunteer work)

  • Unique points of view that might of value to the development of policy solutions

In our experience running policy-focused programs we found that young professionals (in both corporate and government roles) with 3-5 years experience and graduate students (especially those doing an economics and/or public policy centered degree) performed best in these types of programs.

Don't have a Public Policy background?

No problem! At the APYO we value diversity in all its forms and will be looking to bring together a group of people who have experience in a range of fields, industries and sectors. We’re looking for people who are passionate, socially minded, eager to learn and are willing to collaborate.

Participation Fee

APYO's holding of the Lab will be funded by participant contributions. Precise contribution rates will be available in Q3, 2018.

Policy Lab participants will usually have their attendance supported in three main ways:

  • University Scholarships (students)
  • Company/Ministry Professional Development Fund (young professionals in public & corporate sectors)
  • Self Funding (all)

We encourage prospective participants to explore these and other funding avenues within their networks.

Please contact us at info@apyo.org if you need support in seeking funding and pitching this opportunity to your manager and/or institution.

We will regularly update our site with discounts & packages to make the program accessible. Current discounts and/or packages include:

  • Express your interest by 2pm 2 June 2018 (Australian Eastern Standard Time) to receive a 5% discount on the participant fee when you register for the program later this year. This discount is only valid for the first 30 fully completed EOI’s submitted through our website, so be quick!

  • We also understand learning and doing social good is much better when you accompanied by friends. Get a 10% discount if you refer 2 other friends and they complete a registration for the program.

Submit your expression of interest today and join us on our journey to creating a more inclusive and effective policy landscape for young people in our region.
